The City asked for this subject

Dear Mayor Brown, Councilmembers, Plan Commissioners, and State Legislators, I am writing about the Bemiss neighborhood, and I want enough time to understand how PlanSpokane may affect it and to participate before the plan is adopted. I am asking the City to extend the October 2 PlanSpokane comment deadline. The Spokane Complex fires started August 1. Six days later, the City released the draft growth map and updated plan chapters. People displaced by the fires deserve more time to participate. The fires also raised new questions about evacuation routes, road capacity, and where Spokane should add growth. These issues deserve time for public review before Spokane adopts its 20-year growth plan. Please extend the October 2 comment deadline by six months and keep public comments open throughout that period. Thank you.
