Dear Climate Resilience and Sustainability Board,
The 350Spokane Interfaith Committee, in support of Friends of Spokane Trees (FOST), requests that you PAUSE endorsement and passage of the Comprehensive Plan. Of particular concern are options 2 and 3 and the associated concerns that if they pass our neighborhoods will be substantially harmed even more, and more trees will continue to be cut putting contributions of trees to the overall health of our environment in great peril.
Although there are laudable elements of the new plan it makes sense to PAUSE its passage until the defects might be addressed while maintaining the elements that are most likely to benefit the environment, neighborhoods and the city at large.
Thank you for accepting these comments and considering them in your deliberations.
