This email is to express my concern and disappointment that the city what’s to eliminate environmental review. You might as well just admit you do NOT care about the environment. If you don’t care about the environment then you don’t care about people. You only care about money.

Please take the following into consideration:

Spokane aims for a 30% tree canopy and needs better protections for natural lands. We should create an inventory of trees and wildlife habitats to support this.

We need strong rules to protect important natural areas, trees, and clean water. Many natural lands in Spokane are currently unprotected.

We should not exempt all neighborhoods from environmental reviews, as it would harm wetlands, forests, and wildlife habitats.

Exemptions should only apply to areas that are fully disturbed and not natural, as noted in the Draft

We need to protect and maintain urban forests and natural areas to combat climate change and enhance community resilience.
