As you can see below, my personal focus is on the Latah Valley.
1) The merging of hwy 195 traffic onto eastbound I-90 is already problematic. As an example, I've had to completely stop 3 times at the merge point over the last 2 weeks. I'm concerned about traffic coming up behind me not being able to stop as they are focused on their merge as well as having to start at zero to complete the merge.
The increased emphasis on growth to the west is only going to make the situation worse. What is the expected impact by 2046 on that intersection and is that impact considered safe?
The SRTC estimated 5 years ago that it would take $400 million to replace the intersection so they developed another approach diverting local traffic to the Inland Empire Way. I've looked at their plan and agree that it will help but they acknowledged that whether it would be enough was dependent on traffic eastbound on I-90.
2) The SRTC work called for a "frontage road" which would run through the Latah Valley to Hatch Rd. The proposed alternative plan appears to only run it to what appears not to be even as far south as Eagle Ridge Blvd...perhaps it goes to Qualchan. Why the difference? If it doesn't make it to Eagle Ridge Blvd, hundreds of existing homes as well as the proposed 500 homes to the east of Eagle Ridge will be on the 195 (the plan for the 500 homes was pulled so the ownership of the land could be settled in court but it is expected to be proposed again at some point)..
