To the plan commission regarding the current land use plan under final review:
I am a resident of West Central, west end. My neighborhood is currently zoned low density residential. The plan under review recommends that my neighborhood zone be changed to high density. Please do not destroy the character of my neighborhood by allowing 75 foot buildings! Please do not allow all of west central to succumb to the whims of development!
This zoning change threatens single family units, and will displace current residents, perpetuating housing inequality and contributing to deterioration of my neighborhood.
I understand the need to adapt to pressures of housing needs in an urban neighborhood, however I suggest that you reconsider medium density mixed use solutions rather than rushing through a blanket change to HDR classification for our entire neighborhood. Please don’t discard our walkable and peaceful west central urban neighborhood.
Please encourage mid density solutions. Please make an effort to preserve the character of WC rather than succumbing to a destructive HDR classification for West Central.
