Should developers have to improve evacuation routes?

I don't know. I guess I have a question specifically about the concerns related to WUI. We hear a lot about WUI code, but specifically the building code, because the WUI code is a building code. Mm-hmm.
I guess, in your mind, what does it look like for a zoning code to address WUI concerns? Are you talking about significantly restricting what people can build? Yeah. Is that potentially- ... actually what you're- Yeah ... interested in? those high-hazard areas, yeah.
Impact fees, requirements, or connectivity. Or even something that runs with the land that says, "You accept the risks of living out here, and if something happens, fire is going to have to prioritize the area where there's more people." And locked gates. And then best of luck getting insurance on that. Yeah.
On the street design, can we have more intense requirements for street level grid style? Requirements. If there's a large plat coming in, it's required that it contributes to the evacuation routes in some sort of measurable way or something. We need the county to do the same thing. Yeah. 10 years ago, I ran a connectivity ordinance at the county, and it passed eventually, but they slowly eroded it, and it's pretty much gone now.

There's still public comment- Yeah ... through October 2nd on policy, so if there is gaps, I guess I'm not sure what discussions have gone back to the CRSB about reflection on wildfire, but these have been in the draft for a number of months, so if there's ways to take a new lens at them, I'm super down. Yeah.
